Understanding the Google Analytics

Google analytics is a specialized web analytic tool that gives deeper insights about the traffic of a website.The tool was developed by google Inc and it shows the accurate data by eliminating visits from bots,spiders and crawlers to a website.The google analytics code gets embedded and runs on javascript code. By using the tool the website owners would be able to understand the user interaction by analysing the conversion metrics and dimensions shown in the Dashboard.
Using the data, the website UI/UX and content can be enhanced to meet the requirements and satisfy the expectations of the user so that the traffic to the website will be gradually improved.The Basic terms in google analytics are mainly classified into two types namely the Dimension and Metric.
Dimension:
A dimension is defined as an attribute of visitors to the website.The terms like  Gender,Age,City,Source/medium,Keyword are some of the  dimensions found  in google analytics.
Metric :
Metric is the number which is used to measure one of the characteristics of a dimension. A dimension can have one or more characteristics. 
For an example,Source/medium is one of the characteristics of dimensions. It can be viewed by navigating Acquisition - > All Traffic -> Source/Medium. Source/Medium has three secondary dimensions and their respective metrics are described below in detail.
